Kinder from the Journal newspaper will be taking a group picture of
the council members for the newsletter.
This will be done at the
break between executive and public meeting. Picture will be on front
page of our newsletter.
Unfinished
Business---
Newsletter---Chuck
stated Tawna Pippin is ready to go
as editor for the newsletter.
Tawna is working, he is not, so Chuck
said he will probably doing the final edit this time, only have 24
hrs to get this turned in.
He will then pass the editor of
newsletter off to Tawna. Chuck gave a quick list of articles in
newsletter he has asked for,
library, community calendar, code
enforcement, mayor, transportation, Night Out Against Crime, parks
&
rec.,
and back page for advertising parade, Hometown Night, ¼
page for web page, meeting times for KCC, contact info, and commonly
used numbers.
Decision to not list council members home address, but
ok to list personal email address (outside of website email
address’s) with the exception of Al’s.
His email is his wife’s
that she uses for work and Al felt that may interfere with her job to
list.
Hometown Days---Paula reported
that the Oval has
started some advertising already.
They will be putting their funds
into some radio ads on possibly KSL radio. Need to remember this is
their kickoff as well.
Members have rough draft of flyer, any
changes need to be made tonight because will go to print tomorrow
morning.
Kathy suggested ½ page for Hometown Night and ½
for Parade. Charles said he has not seen any advertising at all on
any event on 6200 South.
Paula said should start next week. Oval
stated Hometown Night needs to be finished by 9:00 PM due to their
needs.
Oval will charge $25.00 for booth with the proceeds going to
their Olympic Speed Skating Club.
Discussion made on what changes to
flyer wanted. Chuck suggested a theme like “Let’s Dance”,
others were Kearns Appreciation Night,
Kearns Hometown Kickoff, and
Kearns Celebration. All were liked, but no decision made.
Paula
said the name Kearns Hometown Night was put in by the Oval.
Definite
changes were to list “while supplies last” regarding the food,
“local entertaining groups” regarding the entertainment,
and
putting either the band’s picture or logo on the flyer. These were
all approved changes.
Debby will check with Sheriff’s office for
security. Paula stated there would be some invitations to send to
those we want to.
RDA---Al Britton has
notified those he
previously told this meeting was in July of the new August 24th
date.
Paula reported that she has secured the Oval World Record
Lounge for this meeting.
Time from 3:00 PM—7:00 PM with the
meeting taking place from 4:00 PM—6:00 PM.
Business
Cards---Debby asked again what council wanted on them. Discussion
of what to put on them.
Same green mountain logo, website
address, P.O. Box, personal emails for those who want it, and black
lettering.
Charles suggested since we have discussed this before we
move forward quickly to get them done.
