Roll Call Of Members --- Five (5) members in attendance as listed above.

 

Minutes --- Executive minutes for 01/19/2010 were approved as read and corrected.

 

Citizen Input ---

     Chuck McDowell from 11811 S. 3200 W., Riverton City.  Stated concerns about financial accounting of the council.    Chair Paula Larsen stated that there were areas pointed out by the Financial Oversight Committee (FOC) and these were taken care of.   The FOC had approved of the 1st thru 3rd quarters and were having trouble getting together for the 4th quarter review.  

      Caroline of Kearns -- Talked about concerns of incarcerated members getting out early without notifying of victims.  A group is looking to assist family members of incarcerated inmates.    The UPD Capt. Faccett asked her to talk further with our COP members in the back to clarify the problems and seek results.      

 

Public Reports ---

    UPD --- (United Police Dept) Capt. Faccett

a)        Classes (GREAT) at various elementary schools (grade 5) are looking to be a big success.

b)        Meeting scheduled for Thursday, 25th of February at 7 pm at the Olympic Oval Center, concerning the ‘Assessment Fees’ to the community from the County.

 

Committee Reports:

      Public Works --- Council member Marlon Brennan stated great kudos on the county for the removing/re-doing of damage/raised sidewalks due to large trees located at Plumbago Ave., and at the location of 4180 W and 5100 S., due to poor drainage.

Chair Paula Larsen – Commented on the ground breaking of the new Pilgrim Baptist Church located at 5133 S. Heath Avenue.

Vote--- Motion to approve w/no conditions the construction plans of the Pilgrim Baptist Church. (Kevin/Marlon) Three (3) members gave ‘yes’ by email, four (4) yes –motioned passed.

 

All other scheduled items on the agenda will be tabled to the Executive Meeting scheduled for 16 February.   To allow for Mayor Carroon’s Town Hall Meeting.
