Kearns Boy's and Girl's Water Polo Teams Win the State Tournament
The Kearns High School Boy's and Girl's Water Polo Teams won the state tournament on Saturday, May 17th, at the South Davis Recreation Center
in Bountiful.
The Girl's Team won the championship game against Hunter 16-4 and the Boy's Team defeated Skyline 12-8.
This is the 3rd straight championship for the Girl's Team and the 4th for the Boy's. Their overall records are also equally impressive. The Girl's are approximately 60-0 over the past 3 years and the Boy's are approximately 80-0 over the past 4 years.
This year Brad Peercy (KOPFC Aquatic Manager) was named the boy's Coach of the Year and Adam Huff was the boy's MVP and Annika Bergesen the girl's MVP.

Local Student Recieves National Honor
The National Society of High Schools Scholars (NSHSS) announced May 5th, 2008 that Kearns High School
student Nikita Davis from Kearns, UT has been selected for membership. The Society recognizes top scholars
and invites only those students who have achieved superior academic excellence. The announcement was made by
NSHSS Founder and Chairman Claes Nobel, a senior member of the family that established the Nobel Prizes.
"On behalf of NSHSS, I am honored to recognize the hard work, sacrafice, and commitment that Nikita Davis has demonstrated to achieve this exceptional level of academic excellence," said Mr. Nobel. "Nikita Davis is now a member of a unique community of scholars -- a community that represents our very best hope for the future."
